Sing with Us

Things are well underway for our 2017-2018 Season!  Our plans are, as usual, full of new challenges and we are welcoming enthusiastic young choristers between the ages of 15 and 25 to audition for our 35th year of exceptional choral learning and performances.

To give you an idea of the commitment involved, rehearsals are held on Tuesday evenings from 6:45 p.m. – 9:15 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Parish (174 Wilbrod) with the 2017/2018 season rehearsals beginning on Tuesday September 5th.

2017-2018 concerts confirmed for this year include:

  • Remembrance Day Concert.  ORYC will be joined by the Capital Chamber Choir for this amazing concert.
  • Christmas Concert
  • Songs for St. Joe’s Supper Table concert

Dress rehearsals are also held for each concert and are typically scheduled one or two days prior to the concert dates.

One important part of this preparation is auditioning new members, and building the ORYC Family.

Formal auditions are scheduled three times during the season, however auditions can be scheduled at other times throughout the year by sending a request by completing the form below, or to find out more about auditioning with us, you can email us at

Appointments for auditions are currently being scheduled for:

Our next round of auditions will take place August 28 – 30 from 4PM – 7PM (last audition is booked at 6:50PM) and on September 5 and 12 from 5PM – 6:40PM (last audition is booked at 6:30PM). Candidates are required to perform a piece of their own choosing for the audition. They will also be asked to sing a few scales, do a little sight reading and discuss their musical experience with Jamie and our performance specialist Cara Gilbertson.

Throughout the year we have enjoyed hearing so many young singers throughout the region in recitals, at concerts, solo performances in competitions and in choirs of all sizes, so we know there is an abundance of growing talents across the community.

    Grow with us!
